Behavior Intervention

If you were to ask any parent in the world to provide a few examples of problem behaviors their son or daughter exhibits, I'm sure they could choose at least one or two (if not 10 or 15). As children and as adults, we all exhibit behaviors at times that lead to conflict within ourselves or in our relationships. Understanding these conflicts and finding the best solution is a part of being human. Where Behavior Intervention services come in is when an individual's problem behaviors occur often, causing physical or emotional problems for themselves or others, and leads to a quality of life that is severely limited. This often stems from not understanding the problem and the cognitive or environmental factors affecting the individual. This is often the case for individuals with special needs (to include but not limited to intellectual disabilities, autism, Down syndrome, ADD, ADHD, and children with chronic medical conditions). The Ezzani Behavior Intervention model is especially for them.  Every plan is tailored to meet the different needs of each client and their family and contributes to finding different ways for each client to thrive.

There are four identifying factors in the behavior intervention model:

(1) Identify cognitive and environmental factors that influence how each client learns to behave.

(2) Take observational data and analyze the kinds of skills that each client needs to be taught to achieve independence. Then, develop and begin intervention with family involvement and consent.

(3) As intervention occurs, measure and document each client's progress to ascertain if gains are being made.  This step also involves collaborating with families and any support providers (i.e. regional center services, the classroom teacher, speech pathologist, etc.) to make changes and maintain consistency in school (if the client is school-age) and at home.

(4) As the client begins to improve and consistently exhibits the behavioral goals, preparations are made to fade out services as the client becomes independent and learns to implement the interventions on their own.  Once services end, Ezzani Interventions always remains just an email or phone call away, offering continued support for clients. Clients, their families, and service providers are encouraged to keep in touch and call if any future questions arise.
